More about your host, David Cross
David Cross brings over 35 years of experience in the wine industry, spanning retail, distribution, education, and international trade. Beginning his career in 1987 with a German wine distributor, David continued his career establishing The Grape FW group in the early 1990s before moving into wholesale with Negociants Australia, where he managed the Imported Wines Portfolio for Queensland. He later spent 15 years with MHA and now represents an international hospitality goods supplier.
David is a certified WSET Wine Educator and an experienced industry presenter, having hosted hundreds of tastings, masterclasses, dinners, and seminars for trade, corporate, and public audiences over the past three decades. He has judged for The Courier Mail, Winestate magazine, and the Queensland Wine Awards (2006–2008). In 2001, he received the prestigious National Wine Fellowship from Negociants Australia, leading to an extensive six-week wine study tour across Europe in 2002.
